The lineup of key figures at the URBAN Photo Awards 2026, 17th edition, continues to grow and strengthen.

We are delighted to announce the participation of Christopher Morris, a highly acclaimed American photographer of international renown and co-founding member of VII Photo Agency, will be Jury President for the Single Photo Category, a section that has represented one of the Festival’s central and defining elements since its very start.

Throughout his career, Christopher Morris has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Robert Capa Gold Medal and the Oliver Rebbot Award, and he is a member of the Seven Foundation. His photographic work is widely appreciated on an international level, with particular recognition for the expressive intensity and rigour that characterise his war photography. Over the years, he has also successfully explored other genres, ranging from political photography and portraiture to fashion.

He will personally select and announce the winners and shortlisted photographers of the Single Photo Section during the URBAN Awards ceremony, on Saturday 25 October, as part of the Trieste Photo Days 2026.

At Trieste Photo Days 2026, Christopher Morris will also lead a two-day workshop (22–23 October), offering a valuable opportunity for growth and exchange, which will include a portfolio review session for participants.

He will also be a special guest of Mythography VI, an editorial project dedicated to reinterpreting Greco-Roman mythology through the lens of contemporary photographers, exploring the tension between order and transgression, evoked by the symbolic figures of Jupiter and Bacchus.

With Morris’ involvement, Trieste Photo Days reaffirms its commitment to promoting photographic culture, offering audiences the opportunity to engage with some of the most prominent voices on the international scene.
