An airport reaching new heights
Trieste Airport is rapidly establishing itself as a major hub in the region. Its ongoing expansion is bringing an ever-growing audience to its photographic exhibitions.
In 2024, the airport set a new record by reaching over 1,319,813 passengers, marking a 41.5% increase in traffic compared to 2023. The 2025 summer season, which took off on March 30, has introduced an expanded network of direct routes: 27 destinations in total, including 4 new ones—Prague, Lamezia Terme, Stockholm, and Rotterdam. With the launch of the three-weekly route to Rotterdam, Trieste Airport welcomed its fifth commercial airline: Transavia, which joins ITA Airways, Lufthansa, Ryanair, and Wizzair. The first half of 2025 has already recorded a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
This growing flow of visitors offers a valuable opportunity to discover and appreciate the work of URBAN’s photographers and to experience an internationally-minded event like Trieste Photo Days. This growth further highlights the airport’s role as a cultural showcase, committed to promoting artistic excellence.
