CRAF represents the reference center for research, study, collection, census, archiving, conservation and digitization of the regional photographic heritage. From today, Trieste Photo Days and CRAF will collaborate on a series of shared photographic projects, in a path towards GO! 2025, the year that will see Nova Gorica / Gorizia European Capital of Culture. A very important event to which dotART (promoter of Trieste Photo Days), Exhibit Around APS and CRAF also want to make their contribution.
The photographic release of PixAround FVG in Gorizia and Cormòns (23-24 April 2022) had a special significance. it was in fact the first step of an ideal approach to GO! 2025, the year of Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture.
A contribution in which photography is the protagonist. Towards GO! 2025 will be an integrated four-year project that will culminate in 2025 and provides for the progressive and active involvement of institutions and cultural realities of Gorizia (city and province) and Nova Gorica in order to promote exhibitions and photographic events capable of connecting Trieste (home of the Trieste Photo Days festival) is the European capital of culture. The project intends to create a dialogue between past and present through the involvement of CRAF - Research and Archiving Center for Photography, which provided the archive images that acted as a guide and inspiration for the production of current photographs, giving life food for thought on the transformations of the territory. The first exhibition of Verso GO! 2025 at the Civic Hall of Cormons featured archive photographs made available by CRAF and recent photographs taken through the open call PixAround FVG 2022 and the 24ORE of Photography made in Gorizia and Cormons.
