Collective exhibition of the winners of URBAN 2017 Photo Awards contest.
Now at its eighth edition, URBAN sees every year thousands of photos in competition and hundreds of participants from all over the world. It is a constantly growing international contest, one of the few to "cross the borders" of the web, offering photographers real visibility through dozens of travelling exhibitions around the world. Only in 2016, URBAN has set up 32 exhibitions for nearly 700 photos displayed. At the root of everything, there is always the pursuit of talent and quality.
URBAN 2017 saw 4,120 photos in the race and 253 portfolios for 1,015 participants from all over the world. Besides Italy: Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, England, India, Mexico, Poland, United States, South Africa and many others.
The jury was composed by Maurizio Galimberti (President of the Jury, internationally renowned photographer and artist, famous for his mosaics made with Polaroid), Monika Bulaj (photographer, reporter and documentary filmmaker), Denis Curti (artistic director of the Casa dei Tre Oci of Venice), Elena Uljančić-Vekić (director of the Museum of Poreč, Croatia), Aida Muluneh (Ethiopian photographer and founder of the Addis Foto Fest, the biggest African photographic festival), Angelo Cucchetto (founder of the Photographers.it portal and Artistic director of Trieste Photo Days), Polish street photographer Ania Klosek, Indian naturalist photographer Rathika Ramsamy, Bob Patterson (editor of Street Photographer Magazine), Grzegorz Kosmala (editor of doc! photo magazine), Karol Liver (Irish photographer and director of Prism Magazine), Rohit Vohra (one of the most important Asian photographers, co-founder of APF magazine), Mozart Mesquita (partner of FHOX, who organizes Fotografar SHOW, the Brazil's largest photographic event), Maja Briski (art critic, independent curator and graphic designer) and Christy Karpinski (founder of F-Stop Magazine).
