Project Development with Susan Meiselas – Intensive Workshop
Riva Tre Novembre / Angolo Via Mazzini - Trieste
Saturday 29 October 2022
9.00 - 16.00
Susan Meiselas, special guest to the Trieste Photo Days 2022 festival, will offer a not to be missed intensive workshop reserved for 8-10 participants. Appointment on Saturday 29th October for a collective creative experience curated by one of the most influential documentary photographers in the world, member of the Magnum Photos agency and president of the Magnum Foundation.
The format of the workshop will be that of a collective portfolio review supervised by Susan Meiselas: an intensive lab for project development in which each participant will present to the class and to the teacher the concept of a photographic project. It needs to be in progress, or nearly complete, as they hope to develop a form for the work they have produced. They can of course bring accompanying materials if that’s appropriate to their project.
Each project will be discussed collectively under the leading action of Susan Meiselas who will encourage brainstorming, give advice and make suggestions, so that everyone can get the best from their work.
Saturday 29th October 2022 – from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Location TBA.
» Participation and equipment
Participation is reserved for Exhibit Around APS members (registration by filling out the workshop registration form).
The workshop is open to everyone. However, participation is suggested to those who have a medium knowledge of photography (no beginners).
Participants are required to bring with them their project work in progress in a USB pen drive. Besides a selection of 10-15 photographs, you need a text describing conceptually your project, the stage of your creative process and the way you would shape it.
Each participant will have 30-45 minutes to discuss their projects (with the Artist and the class).
Afterwards, there will be place for discussion and brainstorming within the group.
