Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th, October 2024
at SPAZIO TRART
Viale XX Settembre, 33 - Trieste
Schedule for the Workshop
Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th, October 2024
Paul Gadd will explain the advantages and disadvantages of bleaching prints, how it can enhance or change their appearance, and demonstrate different techniques for achieving various effects. He will also share practical tips on how he professionally hangs and presents his work.
Participants are invited to bring a selection of printed works, including some they don't mind damaging for experimental purposes. Fibre-based prints are preferred, as they offer better workability. Matt and semi-matt papers are particularly recommended, as they are more forgiving when corrections are needed. RC papers are discouraged, as their coating makes them difficult to paint on, especially for beginners.

Teacher: Paul Gadd
Paul Gadd is an internationally acclaimed British photographer known for his unique style that combines deep aesthetic sensitivity with an innovative conceptual vision. His work begins with film shots, which are then manipulated with scratches and other mechanical interventions. The resulting prints are further modified by the artist using various techniques, including the ancient encaustic method. This creative process gives rise to unique pieces, characterized by a mix of humor and dark atmospheres, which have captured the attention of collectors and galleries worldwide.
