Laura Zalenga, special guest of Trieste Photo Days 2023 festival, will hold an unmissable workshop for 12 participants in the city.
Appointment on Saturday 28th October for a collective creative experience curated by Laura Zalenga, a professional photographer with a portfolio including collaborations with Adobe, Disney, Lufthansa, Sony and many others.
The workshop will be an explanation and insight into photographic concepts, how to find inspiration, ideal places and ideas and how to put it all into practice.

9:00 am - 10:30 am | Sala Comunale d'Arte (Municipal Hall of Art)
Laura Zalenga will guide us through her exhibition, detailing where she finds inspiration for her ideas and how she puts them into practice. All contextualized with the outline story of the subject and of the shot showing the unmodified version of the photo.
10:30 am - 1:30 pm | Photo walk with model
A photographic walk together with Laura Zalenga through the Castle of San Giusto and the Parco della Rimembranza. Here the super host will teach how to find the right place for the shot in different types of environments and how to come up with ideas and concepts.
During the walk, a model will be introduced and previously developed concepts put into practice.
Participants can take part in the process, taking pictures themselves.
1.30pm - 2.30pm | Professional execution
Laura Zalenga will perform live self-portrait shots allowing participants to observe her executive process, technique and approach live.
During this phase of the workshop it is not allowed to take photos or record videos.
2.30pm - 3pm | Q&A and greetings

Laura Zalenga, born in 1990, is a German conceptual photographer living in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). The degree in architecture has led to the development of a very clear and minimalist visual language of her work, which often consists of self-portraits defined by the artist as "not-my-self", since she proposes a reading of the subject as an anonymous protagonist, rather than a specific person.
The protagonists of her portraits are often vulnerable and portrayed in situations in which they try to find their space.
Laura Zalenga believes in the healing power of the self-portrait as well as the underrated depth of the genre. The artist uses the self-portrait not only to address social and taboo topics, but also in his professional work with well-known and prominent clients such as Adobe, Disney, Sony and United Nations.
