Over 100 works will be on display, selected from more than 6,000 submissions from around the world. The photographers have interpreted the nine themes of Saint Francis’s celebrated hymn: from the light of Brother Sun to the mystery of Sister Moon and the Stars, from the power of the Wind to the humility of Water, from the energy of Fire to the fertility of the Earth, up to the encounter with Sister Death.
A special section of the exhibition is dedicated to photographs by renowned photojournalist Dario De Dominicis, taken from his project The Franciscan Soul of Brazil. This reportage, created between 2013 and 2017, documents the second most important pilgrimage in the world dedicated to Saint Francis, held in the Northeast of Brazil.
The exhibition will be open at Palazzo Monte Frumentario every day from 10am to 6pm, from 1 to 21 September 2025.
