The Trieste Photo Days festival is gearing up to become a global platform for art and photography, putting Friuli Venezia Giulia in the spotlight. Thanks to the collaboration with the renowned master Giorgio Celiberti, the region reaffirms itself as a cultural hub of international significance. During the event, scheduled from October 24 to November 3, 2024, the awards will offer a unique opportunity to celebrate not only photographers but also the artistic legacy of our territory.
Steles and Seals signed by Celiberti
Winners of the main categories and contests of the festival will receive extraordinary awards: steles and medallions (known as seals) specially crafted by master Giorgio Celiberti, the youngest artist ever awarded at the Venice Biennale. These works, each unique and symbolically significant, pay tribute to creativity and contemporary art. Awarded artists will thus become ambassadors for Friuli Venezia Giulia, carrying a piece of our region back to their home countries.
Trieste Photo Days: a crossroads of cultures
The festival serves as a meeting point for photographers and artists from all corners of the globe. The awards will not only celebrate the talent of the participants but also recognize the central role of the region in promoting art and culture. Giorgio Celiberti’s unique creations add extraordinary value, ensuring that Friuli Venezia Giulia is celebrated internationally.
A link between art and territory
Born in Udine in 1929, Giorgio Celiberti is a world-renowned artist: his training in Venice and travels across Europe and the United States, particularly in Paris, have profoundly influenced his art. In addition to painting, Celiberti is also dedicated to sculpture, receiving numerous accolades, including the Sulmona Prize in 2003. His works, which blend plastic and pictorial expression, become a bridge between Friuli Venezia Giulia and the award-winning photographers. “I try to put something in my works that is like a wish, like a warm embrace that brings good luck,” says the artist, conveying the artistic sensitivity of our territory in the international context.
