Photo exhibition “Trieste Audace” opens at the Central Post Office in Trieste

Poste Italiane: in the Main Hall of Trieste’s Central Post Office, Trieste Photo Days will open the photo exhibition “Trieste Audace” on Saturday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m.

On view from July 8-29, on the second floor of the Vittorio Veneto Square building, the photo exhibition celebrating the city anticipates the 10th Edition of the international festival Trieste Photo Days.

The cultural associations dotART and Exhibit Around APS, creators of the Trieste Photo Days – International Festival of Urban Photography, present the preview of the photographic exhibition “Trieste Audace” created “in anticipation” of the Tenth Edition of the Trieste Photo Days (Oct. 27-29, various venues in the city). The exhibition, which will be inaugurated on Saturday, July 8, at 10:30 a.m., in the Main Hall on the second floor of the Central Post Office building in Trieste, is realized with the collaboration of the Italian Post Office and the Telegraphic and Postal Museum of Mitteleuropa, the cooperation of AIDIA Italian Association of Women Engineers and Architects of Trieste and MuMeG Museum Market of Taste. For the occasion on display at the Central Post Office, also the project “Automezzi green Poste Italiana Trieste” with photographs taken by Alessio Terzo.

From July 8 to July 29 in Piazza Vittorio Veneto will be on display a hundred photographs made by 69 authors that tell Trieste through each author’s personal perception of the soul of the city, the Bora, the Gulf and historic cafes. The photos will give original and unusual looks at daily life, architecture, and the territory, becoming visual identity and cultural testimonies of Trieste contributing to enhance its richness and diversity.

dotART and Exhibit Around APS, are therefore proud to pay tribute to their city through the extraordinary photographs of authors from all over the world, in many cases taken during the different editions of the Trieste Photo Days Festival by the participants themselves who took the opportunity to explore the city and capture its unique beauty.

“Trieste Audace” is a choral tribute to the city that was the birthplace of the Trieste Photo Days Festival, one of the most relevant artistic-cultural events in Italy and internationally capable of involving and bringing to the city photographers of undisputed depth such as Martin Parr, Susan Meiselas, Nino Migliori, Tony Gentile, Bruce Gilden, Alex Webb, Alexandra Sophie, and Nick Turpin.
Thanks to the support of Institutions and Partners, the participation in the projects of hundreds of photographers from all corners of the world, and the presence of international guests, the festival has thrived over the years and established itself as one of the excellences in the international photographic scene.

“Trieste Audace” is the result of an international open call that saw the participation of more than 150 authors from around the world who contributed more than 1,500 photographs.
This exciting project will reach its culmination in October at the Tenth Edition of Trieste Photo Days, as part of the major exhibition to be held at the Covered Market in Trieste and with the presentation of a dedicated publication.

The exhibition, in the Italian Post Office’s Main Hall on Vittorio Veneto Street, will be open to the public from July 8 to 29 2023, Monday through Friday, from 8:20 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays until 12:30 p.m.
