Matteo Zambon

Matteo Zambon is a composer associated with the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory in Trieste. In 2026, he won the first prize in Fotografia in Sinfonia, the competition organised by dotART and Exhibit Around with the Conservatory to create a sound environment for photographic exhibitions.

His winning composition, Rifrazioni sonore. Il prisma della memoria, combines two contrasting soundscapes: the natural atmosphere of the hills surrounding Trieste and the intensely human environment of the London Underground. The jury recognised the way he brought these settings together within an abstract musical structure suited to the themes of the exhibition.

Conceived as a polysinphony in three movements — Adagio, Andante and Allegro — the work is designed to unfold through speakers distributed around the exhibition space. It accompanies the photography displays at Magazzino 26 during Trieste Photo Days 2026, inviting visitors to experience sound and image as parts of a shared environment.
