Fotografa autodidatta e artista digitale di Salonicco, Nicki Panou ha una formazione ibrida che attraversa l’informatica applicata, le arti grafiche e la recitazione, un percorso che si riflette nella natura narrativa del suo lavoro. Attiva nella fotografia dal 2013, ha esposto in Grecia e all’estero, al Photometria International Photography Festival, al CONTACT Photography Festival di Toronto e al Trieste Photo Days. Nel 2024 ha ottenuto il primo premio nella categoria Self-Portrait ai Julia Margaret Cameron Awards.
Con il progetto Home, pubblicato nel volume Mythography V di Exhibit Around, indaga il significato universale e insieme intimo del concetto di casa. Una serie di sei autoritratti scattati in diverse stanze dello stesso edificio, in cui la dimensione domestica diventa territorio narrativo, carico di intimità e complessità. Le immagini attraversano temi di solitudine, memoria e presenza, e indagano il ruolo della donna nello spazio domestico: la sua forza, la sua resilienza, la molteplicità della sua identità.

A self-taught photographer and digital artist based in Thessaloniki, Nicki Panou has a hybrid background spanning applied informatics, graphic arts and acting, a path that is reflected in the narrative nature of her work. Active in photography since 2013, she has exhibited in Greece and abroad, at the Photometria International Photography Festival, the CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto and Trieste Photo Days. In 2024 she received first prize in the Self-Portrait category at the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards.
With the project Home, published in the volume Mythography V by Exhibit Around, she explores the universal yet deeply personal meaning of home. A series of six self-portraits taken in different rooms of the same house, in which domestic space becomes narrative territory, charged with intimacy and complexity. The images move through themes of solitude, memory and presence, and examine the role of women in the domestic space: their strength, their resilience, and the complexity of their identity.
