Rudy Gadeyne is a Belgian photographer and photography educator. He studied in Ghent, graduating in printmaking from the Sint-Lucas Higher Institute for Visual Arts, now LUCA School of Arts, and in art film and photography from KASK, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
His early career was closely connected to theatre, particularly figure theatre. He worked as house photographer for Teater Taptoe in Ghent and as resident photographer for De Maan in Mechelen and Het Firmament. His photographs appeared in theatre publications including De Scene, Figurentheaterkrant and Open Doek, and in solo exhibitions in Belgium.
He has taught photography for more than twenty years, at the Municipal Drawing Academy in Wetteren since 2002 and at CVO KISP in Mariakerke from 2003 to 2025. Alongside his theatre work, he has developed travel and documentary projects across Asia, North Africa, Europe and the United States.
His photobook Around Rugby was published in 2024. His long-term portrait of the Isle of Man, A Book of Man, draws inspiration from the personal documentary tradition of Robert Frank’s The Americans and received an honourable mention at the URBAN Book Award 2026.
