Stefano Mirabella

Stefano Mirabella is an Italian photographer working in documentary and street photography. He began photographing in 2003, studying at leading photography schools in Rome and developing a practice rooted in social reportage. His projects have taken him to Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, India, Syria and the occupied Palestinian territories, and have been presented in exhibitions and publications in Italy and abroad.

Since 2012, street photography has been his main creative and professional focus. Through close observation of everyday life, he explores the relationship between chance, light, composition and a personal way of seeing. A former member of the Italian collective Spontanea, he was among the winners of Leica Talent in 2014.

Mirabella teaches at Officine Fotografiche and Leica Akademie. In 2021, he curated Caio Mario Garrubba – FREELANCE SULLA STRADA for Istituto Luce, contributing to renewed recognition of the Italian photographer’s work.

At Trieste Photo Days 2026, he is the special guest of TRAVEL with Istanbul, an ongoing colour project examining the city through everyday gestures, encounters and moments beyond its familiar tourist imagery.
