BIO
Born and raised in Geneva, Suresh Naganathan moved to India, his family’s country of origin, in 2008.
His sudden encounter with the sounds, colors, and overwhelming human presence of Mumbai became the starting point of his photographic journey: an attempt to make sense of the chaos, which gradually evolved into a meditative process and a way of connecting with both the world around him and himself.
PROJECT
With A World Called Mumbai, the project that earned him an Honorable Mention in the 2025 “India” call, Suresh explores the many worlds that coexist within the city, its extraordinary diversity, and the complexity hidden beneath what initially seemed to be nothing more than chaos.
A love letter to Mumbai and a small postcard for anyone who wants to understand what it truly means to live there.
In this interview, Suresh shares the story behind A World Called Mumbai and talks about his approach to street photography.
