Opening of the exhibition La città che sale (The rising city) by Giorgio Galimberti, presented by the president of the photographic club "Fincantieri-Wartsila" Fulvio Merlak and by the art director of the Festival Angelo Cucchetto.

The exhibition will be open until November 8, 2019 with visiting hours from Monday to Friday from 17.00 to 19.00.

Faceless figures that animate the new architectural spaces, and faces of architects who build the current and future Milan.
These are the two souls of the exhibition "Milano, la città che sale", organized in cooperation with Panasonic: the geometric framings and the metaphysical nuances of Giorgio Galimberti's black and white photography.
The 20 pictures of Giorgio Galimberti's photographic project are shot in the Allianz Tower in Milan.

Burnt white and absolute black come together to narrate the Cubist architecture of this Milanese building, people are transformed into silhouettes and become unaware actors, transformed into surrealist characters, dematerialized images, sometimes almost lunar landscapes...
Geometries, lights, reflections, absolute whites and blacks describe the environments, sometimes modifying the content itself, while maintaining the sincerity of my way of seeing and telling stories.
A Mondrian in black and white, volumes and structures that remind of De Chirico, shots are inspired by the "City that goes up" by Umberto Boccioni.A different city, a metaphysical place, a place that I will always keep in my most beautiful memories, a place that even for a short time or maybe forever has been mine, in my eyes, in my imagination, in my emotions.
My G9 has marked the spaces, the time, together we have made our own this masterpiece about Milan, the City that rises.

Giorgio Galimberti

Giorgio Galimberti was born in Como on 20 March 1980. With the help of a family linked to art and creativity, he approached instant photography at a young age, using the possibilities that film allows, experimenting with techniques of handling it as a game, with awareness and mastery of the instrument.
Surrounded by the presence and knowledge of great Masters, Giorgio captures and makes his own a certain type of vision that, when he takes the camera in hand, allows him to define his own clear and well-defined stylistic code. Around the age of thirty, his experiences and knowledge were transformed into an awareness of language that allowed him to approach the world of authorship with technical and compositional maturity.
His references have certainly influenced the definition of his own language: Robert Frank, Robert Doisneau and Mario Giacomelli above all.
His images go beyond the usual photographic canons, combining different genres, starting from street photography, which is expressed in a vision focused on contrasts, and a modern and contemporary use of light.
