For the first time in Italy, the exhibition of the large itinerant collective Women Street Photographer, born from the highly successful Instagram profile Women Street Photographers created by Gulnara Samoilova, will be in Trieste during the Trieste Photo Days, as part of the traveling exhibition that has already touched New York, Washington, Brussels, New Delhi and Sofia.
Hosted at the Accademia Scaglia the exhibition will be open from October 24 to November 20, 2020, Monday to Friday, 15.00-19.00.
The largest community of street photographers in the world, over 96 thousand followers, the Instagram feed of Women Street Photographers (@womenstreetphotographers), and the traveling exhibition, is a platform of well curated, quality street photography by women. By focusing strictly on the work of women photographers, the community provide the extra exposure for female artists. Additionally, the goal is to create visibility for dedicated women street photographers and to encourage other women to follow their passion.
The Instagram feed of Women Street Photographers (@womenstreetphotographers), and the traveling exhibition, was founded by Gulnara Samoilova, a street and fine art photographer based in New York City. The project began as a personal Instagram catalog for a future exhibition, but has quickly become a popular platform for both amateur and professional women photographers.
