Born in 2021, Trieste Photo Young is a free contest dedicated to photographers under 35, promoted by the dotART and Exhibit Around APS associations with the support of the Pietro Pittini Foundation.
The aim of Trieste Photo Young is to discover, support and reward young photographers by offering them a prestigious exhibition space during the ninth edition of Trieste Photo Days.
Trieste Photo Young has now grown into URBAN Photo Arena, entering the URBAN universe and sharing its prizes, international jurors and thus becoming an international stage for young photography talents.
An innovative and exciting knockout tournament (with round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final), along the lines of the World Cup. The evolution of the contest with its knockout bracket is available on the URBAN's website dedicated page, where the updated rankings are published as the jury votes. The contest took place online up to the quarterfinals, while the semifinals and the final take place live during the Trieste Photo Days, where the jurors will decide the winning photo live.

Pietro Pittini Foundation was created to commemorate the death of Pietro Pittini, through the promotion and implementation of solidarity initiatives aimed at the personal, educational and professional growth of young people in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, in particular the most fragile from a socio-economic point of view and educational.
Art, science, sport and entrepreneurship are the four drivers through which the Foundation seeks to encourage the inclusion and development of its beneficiaries. Educational poverty, social innovation and generative growth of the territories are the objectives of philanthropic action.
The Foundation believes in the talent of young people and wants to help create the conditions so that they can best express their growth potential. For this reason, the Pietro Pittini Foundation supports regional initiatives such as URBAN Photo Arena, which with its project aims to bring the under 35s closer to the artistic / educational field, while enhancing the city of Trieste.
