Award-winning humanist photographer and filmmaker, he obtained his Master’s degree at the CRAF in conservation, technique and history of photography in 1990, studying, with Charles–Henri Favrod, Naomi Rosenblum and Walter Rosenblum, who is his spiritual father in photography. He publishes for the major international newspapers including National Geographic, Der Spiegel, Die Zeit, Newsweek, Days Japan International.
His documentaries have been broadcast on: Amazon Prime Video, Al Jazeera, Discovery Channel, RSI TV Switzerland.
He is a speaker at numerous conferences in Italy, Europe, the United States and Japan. He has received more than 50 international awards including 6 “Pictures of the Year International”, 2 “Days Japan international Photojournalism Awards” and was also a finalist for the “Eugene Smith Grant”, “Alexia Foundation Grant”, “Leica Oskar Barnack Awards” , World Report Awards, Sony World Photography Awards.
