As part of the open call for the selection of projects to be exhibited at the 2022 edition of Trieste Photo Days, Graziano Perotti has chosen two ex aequo projects, among the 80 received.
Cairo, A Beautiful Thing Is Never Perfect by Jonathan Jasberg (USA) and Personal Constellations by Paola Rizzi (Italy) are therefore the first two solo exhibit that we can announce for Trieste Photo Days 2022!
Jonathan Jasberg‘s project borrows its title from the ancient Egyptian proverb “A beautiful thing is never perfect”, which perfectly describes the spirit of his snapshots of Cairo. A work that portrays the less touristy areas of the Egyptian capital from an unusual and admired perspective, showing the unique beauty of a sprawling urban labyrinth, one of the most densely crowded in the world.
Personal Constellations by Paola Rizzi is an intimate project that investigates the human story of a woman from Vigevano (Italy) forced to live isolated from the world due to a singular hypersensitivity to electromagnetic fields. “Erika is in my imagination a knight fighting an invisible as well as invisible enemy in our eyes it is her illness.”
We congratulate both authors and thank the other photographers who have nominated their projects for the call, inviting them to propose them again for the next calls!
